Dolce & Gabbana Spring/Summer
2013 Collection.
Well Domenico and Stefano you've done
it again!!
These dresses are not only visually
stunning but beautifully made. I thought Dolce & Gabbana had outdone
themselves with their A/W 2012 collection; but clearly they keep coming back
with more and more. I say this every time but I am a HUGE fan of D&G, I
absolutely adore every collection and crave every piece. I think with every
season the urge to win the lottery becomes more and more apparent. If I could
walk in to the D&G store and buy everything from this collection I would be
a very happy girl.
I'm in love with the patterns in this
collection. From the medieval Italian knights to the gypsy/Caribbean inspired
wheel prints; not to mention the crochet, sheer and the cage dresses (which for
the record are AMAZING). If this doesn't scream summer on the Italian coast I
don't know what does. I can imagine sitting by the Italian lakes wearing one of
these simple (yet so pweedy) stripy dresses. These are the perfect classic
Italian glamour for a glamorous season.
Now usually I pick some of my
favourite looks and talk about them, but in this collection I actually can't
narrow my choices down. My favourite print is the medieval knights; but overall
I have to go for the stripy dresses/tops and skirts. If I could picture the
perfect everyday dress or top and skirt combination - these would be them.
Whether it's green, blue or red these dresses will simply go with everything
and that's just it they're simple! If ever you need a simple yet classic piece
to last through all the seasons Dolce & Gabbana have you covered. The
stripe print will never age. I've been wearing stripes non stop for 3 years now,
no matter what colours you buy you'll wear them again and again. I love the cut
of these dresses whether it's empire lines, high waisted or loose fitting
they're perfect for any occasion whether formal or not. I can definitely see
myself wearing one of the dresses for shopping with my Mum, and then teaming
the high waisted skirt with a blouse and layered up jewellery for drinks in the
evening.
I do want to mention the caged dresses.
I think they are without a doubt the most beautiful craftsmanship I have seen
for a long time. The corseted fit and also with the 1950's inspired design that
has the sheer overlay just gives it that edge. Who would have thought that
sheer and wicker-esque style would be the perfect summer ensemble - I certainly
didn't but now I'm hooked.
I can't wait to see how these pieces
are either teamed with different designers or simply all D&G.
I'm just hoping when the birthday
fairy visits me tomorrow it brings me this whole collection - if only!!
(Btw I apologise for the pictures
being out of order).
