I'm so glad to be home!!
As much as I do love escaping from home for a few days I do miss my normal routine (I'm weird like that).
I went to Cheltenham for a few days not only to see my sister Charlie but to go to The Annual Digital Film Production Awards Ceremony. Now just in case you didn't know as I don't think I've mentioned it really, for the past 4 years Charlie has been at the University of Gloucestershire originally studying History but changed to Digital Film Production. This is Charlie's last year and I presume they do this every year (well it does say annual) to show of the DFP's talents and hard work. Charlie was nominated for best Screen Writer for her film ‘What Would You Say?’ Also while I was there I had another singing lesson and I've forgotten how much I love singing! I'm like anyone else I sing along to the radio, sing in the shower, in front of the mirror, in the car etc but to actually use my voice the way I should and sing The Sound of Music at the top of my lungs felt pretty good. I used to have singing lessons back in Secondary school and I think it's time to go back. I didn't do much shopping while I was there (which makes a change) but I did pick up a top from Topshop (the one I'm wearing in Saturday's outfit); and a skull bracelet (this one but in neutral) that I have been after for ages!! I popped in to CeX and picked up Shakespeare in Love (love that film!) and Confessions of a Shopaholic for when I'm in a girly mood. Overall it was a nice little trip the only downside was my journey home which took in total 5 hours!! There was so much traffic outside London it was all because of the rugby match at Twickenham, which now I know that it was the Harlequins who were playing and I love Chris Robshaw I don't mind so much. It's just nice to be home and relaxing on the sofa.
To the outfits...
Now usually in this bit I talk about my outfit in detail but instead I'm just going to pick one item from each outfit to highlight. It has been so hot lately that I feel as if I have no summer clothes (when really I have plenty); so deciding what to take away with me was horrendous and stressful (yes I stress out over clothes). In the end I just chucked a couple things in my holdall and was done with it. Thursday's outfit was purely put together for comfort and to keep cool so I decided to wear this maxi dress. I had bought it about a year ago in New Look when we had a warm April and needed a girly maxi dress, it was a bit pricey at £29.99 but as it was part of the brands range I didn't mind paying that little bit extra. It's nice and long on me which I find is very rare with dresses or trousers so as soon as I tried it on I knew I had to have it. Friday's outfit was again purely put together to keep cool in the blistering heat and to be comfortable. Now these trousers I've had for a few years now and I love them! They're from River Island and I got them in the sale on their website I've worn them so many times I actually can't keep track; the only downside is that I can't wear them in winter otherwise my leggies would be too cold. Saturday's outfit again was for keeping cool on the journey home and comfortable so I decided to wear my new top from Topshop. I went in to Topshop purely to look for jewellery as I have been itching to update my accessories collection but I was distracted by the mini sale section in the corner. I originally picked up a black waistcoat for £15 which I thought was a good price and then I saw this top and I was in love; it was my size, it had skulls on it and it was £7!! It was a no brainer I needed this in my life. It's a really good fit and I can see myself wearing this a lot in the future.
It’s now a new week and we'll see what it has in store.
Let's hope no more 5 hour journeys...
B x
