I Put The Words And The Melodies Together...

Good evening!!
Yes it is a Sunday night and I am so tired from work I feel as if I'm now resisting sleep (I don't get it).
I thought today I would do something a little unconventional and share with you a few songs that I have been obsessed with recently. Now these 5 songs consist of new releases, a few classics and a song that has been stuck in my head while I was a work. I'm one of those people who like all genre of music (apart from dub step - can't stand it); so there is an eclectic mix here.
Enjoy!!

I Close My Eyes And Feel Myself Fly A Thousand Miles Away...

Kimono - River Island
Dress - New Look
Leggings (underneath) - Topshop
Shoes - New Look
Jewellery - Topshop / Miss Selfridge / Dorothy Perkins & New Look
Sunnies - River Island
The weather has been so hot these past couple of days!!
I actually think I've melted!!
Just a quick post today!!
This was me yesterday when I popped to the docs for a check up nothing too exciting.
My appointment was at 9am and with this blistering heat I wasn't quite sure what to wear; but I'm glad to see that it's cooler today!! (I'm doing a lot of exclamation points today). As I said nothing exciting but I wanted to make an effort (even if I'm not wearing any make up).
To the outfit...
With the appointment at 9am, I didn't know what to wear as the weather has been so hot and the temperature varies. I knew I wanted to wear a maxi dress and thought this New Look one would be more sun friendly then my black H&M one. I was originally going to wear a chunky cardigan but with the heat getting warmer by the second, I decided to put my kimono on instead. This combination is one I've been wanted to try for a while but the weather has been so unpredictable, (rainy, cold, horrible - to name a few) it wasn't the right time. I think the colours are very similar and also it's a nice alternative to a denim jacket or a cardigan. I teamed it up with silver jewellery as I've been wearing a lot of gold lately; so I dug out as much silver as I could find and piled it all up (as you can see not a lot).
Like I said a very quick post today!!
I'm enjoying my time at home as I have work in 2 days!! Not fun.
At least I get to look at pweedy clothes for 6 hours!!
I will own them all...or not...

I Haven't Lived One Day Not Lovin' You Only...

Jacket - Zara (Charlie's)
Top(s) - Primark
Trousers - Warehouse
Shoes - New Look
Jewellery - Topshop / DIY & River Island
I officially can't move!
After doing a 6 hour induction, 6 hour shift and then a 6 hour till training session with only one day in between - I am completely life less.
Just a quick post today!!
This was me on Saturday (yes I'm that behind) after my very long induction. I mentioned a while ago in a post that I had an interview well the day after I got the call to say I got the job!! I'm now working in my local Debenhams and although it's a long shift (well for me); it's a nice environment to be in and you get to sing along with the music (again only for me). I did meet some nice people at the induction but we've all been put on different floors, so I'm the only one on ground floor but I don't mind that so much. I'm back at work on Sunday (I work every Sunday); but I have a bit of a busy week in between. Fun times!
To the outfit...
I didn't exactly have a choice when it came to this outfit as we were supposed to wear black. Now as you know I do wear a lot of black but I never seem to own many plain black pieces. I wasn't sure what to wear so I thought I would chuck on my Primark sheer shirt and a blazer, now I couldn't find mine so Charlie kindly lent me her one (like I did here as well). I was going to pair this ensemble with bold jewellery but decided to change my mind as I didn't want to scare anyone. I did wear pink lipstick but had major difficulty with it (I've just been wearing lip gloss ever since).
As I said earlier only a quick post nothing really major is happening (well apart from getting a job).
I'm now relaxing at home watching Shrek 2 (love the Shrek movies!!)
Is it nap time yet??
I didn't think so...

At A Day In Your Celebration...

Happy 1st Birthday to 24hoursfromwonderland!!
Yes I have now been blogging for one whole year!! Where has the time gone??
I remember a year ago (and 1 day) digging out all my favourite clothes and having Charlie photograph them. I honestly thought I wouldn't get to a year, there was many a day where I wanted to give up and stop blogging for a few months; but I persevered and now here I am a year later.
Now I didn't want to do an outfit post as I always do but I wasn't sure what I wanted to do. Now when I think of birthdays the first thing that pops in to my head is a birthday list; every year (every day more like) I always tell my mum what I would like. Now as I've gotten older it’s become harder to come up with things, well not only that but as my birthday is in October I can't want anything in the Spring/Summer seasons. It's a cruel world! I know there's probably nothing that my blog wants (except perhaps more posts). I've decided that from now on, every 23rd of the month shall be a Monthly Want!! A different item for every month whether it's high street or designer it'll be amazing!!
Monthly Want - July
I have literally been after this bag for what feels like years!! Longchamp bags are so popular and very versatile not to mention they come in a variety of colours - one for everyday I think so. I'm going to try and save up my pennies to purchase this bag as it definitely needs to be part of my collection!
Better start saving...

She's Just A Cosmic Girl...

Hat - Forever 21
Top(s) - Primark
Trousers - Warehouse
Jacket - Forever 21
Shoes - New Look
Jewellery - DIY / Topshop & Accessorize
Sunnies - River Island
Hello everyone!!!
Just a quick post today!
This was me earlier when I popped out to get my eyebrows done. In case you didn't know I am very OCD when it comes to my eyebrows; I always make sure they're dark and always look perfect. If there's one little hair out of place I get a bit funny but what is actually funny is that I'm not vain. I am probably the most un-girliest girl ever but I do have my moments. I never trust myself to do them myself so it's my little pampering session every other month or so. I did pick up not only doughnuts (typical me) but also a new lipstick and lip liner both from Rimmel. I've been wanting to get a few lip liners as I think my lips aren't as defined as they should be; I've been wanting a red one but instead I picked up a Lasting Finish1000 Kisses Lip Liner in Indian Pink and Kate Moss Spring Lipstick Collection -number 20 (I think).
To the outfit...
As this title suggests I am a cosmic girl. I actually picked this top up from Primark a few months ago for £6!! A complete bargain especially when this print is on trend! It’s a great style to team with a blazer, cardigan or as I have with a baseball jacket. It's been one of those pieces (as I've said before) that have been hung up amongst all the others waiting to be worn; of course I haven’t experimented with it as you know me I stick to the usuals. It was good to dig out the baseball jacket from Forever 21 and not be worried about the rain (I didn't get wet woo!!) In fact today was the perfect weather to wear this jacket. I guess you could describe my sense of style as the usual suspects!!
According to the weather man the sun has got its hat back on and hip hip hooray! It's about time!!
We need a real summer of course feel free to rain while the Olympic events are on (bitter); but when they're having a break let's have a bit of sun shall we.
Always moaning about the weather I think I need a talk with Mother Nature again or dig out the umbrella?
Umbrella it is...

Once You've Had A Taste Of Perfection...

 Dolce & Gabbana A/W 2012/2013 Collection.
O M G!!
This collection is without doubt the most perfect collection I have ever seen!
Now as you know I am a huge fan of Dolce & Gabbana, I love all their collections but this season they've out done themselves.
You can see the essence of Italian style in this collection starting with the baroque print. I've lost count of how many days I've sat at home dreaming of a baroque print cape and here it is; from a cape to knee length and longer length these baroque print coats are exactly what anyone needs to survive the unpredictable winters. That hint of luxury on a cold snowy winter’s day.
How amazing are the white and black ensembles?
Whether it's silk, lace or embellished D&G have created the perfect 'first week back to college' outfits (well first week back to college for me). With the added accessories of a belt, knee length stockings and a classic style handbag (not to mention the added bonus of a stunning headband); you will complete any look and completely rock it. The best part is no matter which piece you take from this collection it will simply fit in to your wardrobe as if you've always had it. Simple elegance with real Italian class.
Briefly going to mention that amazing leopard cape and 6 little words - I NEED THAT IN MY LIFE!!!
I don't know why florals are mainly associated with Spring/Summer, there's been many a winters day where I have resisted dusting off my florals and teaming them up with a bit of fur. There are two fitted puff sleeve floral dresses (above) which are perfect for the winter season. Two different colours and whether you prefer horizontal florals or florals that decorate the side, perhaps you'd like added sheer lace at the bottom. These dresses are perfect for any figure and any age especially with the knee length it makes them more wearable. Classic florals to brighten up the winter months.
Michelangelo, Da Vinci and Renaissance these are only but a few words I would use to describe these last 3 looks. When I look at these I simply think of the history, art and romance of Italy from the 16th century courts; to the modern day atmosphere these three looks encapsulate the Italian history. I love the combination of roses and cherubs they remind me of romance and of cupid; I can imagine wearing one of these waiting in the opera house waiting for Puccini's Tosca to start (love the opera). Whether it's a full skirt, longer length, shift style, long sleeved, short puff sleeves or an added pussy bow you'll find exactly what you're looking for in these pieces. A modern day renaissance romance.
As you know when I usually do these posts I like to pick out my favourite and today is no exception; looking at all these amazing looks it's so hard to choose my favourite but there is one that stands out the most. I'm going to draw your attention to the very first look.
This dress to me is everything I and in fact you could possibly want in a dress; whether it's the black velvet material, the cinched in waist with the ornate belt, the embellished neckline, the knee length and the puff sleeve (hiding my problem areas - I don't like the tops of my arms). This dress is classic elegance at its best.
I will now dream about this dress and hope the birthday fairy brings this dress to me for my birthday; (wink wink nudge nudge).
I love every single look in this collection (and this is only half). I'm always surprised when I find an album where I like every single song (Julian Ovenden - If You Stay - love him!!); but it's even more rare to look at a collection and think I want to wear all of that for the rest of my life. To me this is that collection.

To A Place Where I'm Free To Be Me...

Kimono - River Island
Top(s) - Primark
Trousers - Warehouse
Shoes - New Look
Jewellery - Miss Selfridge / Topshop / Dorothy Perkins & River Island
I'm even surprised both my eyes were open at the time this was taken.
This was me yesterday at around 9pm!
Now usually I'm snuggled up on the sofa with my blanket and not daring to move but yesterday this was different. I actually had a job interview/audition (I won't say what for just in case I don't get it); it was 6 -8pm which I thought was quite late but it was probably more convenient for them. It was a good interview/audition which I think I did alright with; I think everyone has messed up at an interview or two over the years. Now it's just a waiting game but I will let you know if anything happens. I did end up walking around town for nearly an hour trying to kill time; which actually was quite hard. I would walk around the same shop over and over again (I'm surprised I didn't look dodgy), although I did enjoy looking at all the clothes. Needless to say by the time I got home I was completely tired and could barely keep my eyes open (especially the lazy one); plus I didn't like that my shoes were very wet from the rain. I always moan about the weather!
To the outfit...
Now there wasn't really a dress code for the interview/audition evening but they did mention something about muted tones, for example black, navy, brown etc. I immediately thought back to the outfit I wore for the Benefit interview and audition, but I wanted to be a bit more adventurous rather then head to toe black. I purchased this kimono from River Island about a month ago in their pre-sale sale (if that makes sense); I was looking online and saw this for £10 and knew I had to get it. It's been hanging up waiting to be worn but it's always been too cold or too warm to wear it; with this outfit in mind I knew it would be a perfect match! It turned out it was the perfect thing to wear as everyone else was in their suits or cardigans so in that sense I stood out in a multi - print kimono.
I'm glad that the evening is over and I can finally calm my nerves.
Nothing beats relaxing at home watching cartoons!
I think I need to get out more...

Till The Sun Peeking Sparkle At Dawn...

Dress - Primark
Leggings - Topshop (Tall)
Jacket - Primark
Boots - Shoe Zone
Bag - Next
Jewellery - Miss Selfridge / Topshop & Vintage
I actually look like death warmed up!!
I should probably say I'm not ill I just look pale even though I'm wearing make up.
I look more like Mrs Death (well you never know).
Just a quick post today!
Today I popped out with my Mum to get a manicure.
I actually have never had a manicure and I didn't know what it entailed for all I knew they were just going to paint my nails. It was quite a relaxing experience with the ambience music that sounded as if I was in the jungle, I couldn't tell you what she did as I spent most of the time talking about Disneyland Paris. My nails are now a pretty shimmery blue/green colour it reminds me of the sea, mermaids and tropical fish; it's fair to say I feel like Ariel. The polish is chipped on a few of the nails but I always chip my nails in less then 24 hours. I'm the worst girl ever!
To the outfit...
I'm in a fashion crisis!!
This unpredictable weather is stressing me out (yes I stress over everything); I never know what to wear in this weather especially with rain. I've resorted back to wearing my 'on it's last legs' boots and digging out my dress collection. I feel like I'm in mourning in this outfit (I can assure you I'm not). This jumper dress is actually quite old I wore it for mine and Charlie's 18th and 21st birthday meal 2 years ago. I don't think I've worn it since it's one of those pieces that I constantly dig out but never wear. It's a great staple piece and it will be perfect for those winter days at college.
OMG Super Tiny Animals is on ITV1 and I now want a little furry baby!!
Yes I'm completely sad but I'm ok with that!
Well...

No Matter Where You Call Your Home...

Hat - Forever 21
Dress - River Island
Leggings - Topshop (Tall)
Cardigan (on arm) - Warehouse
Shoes - Next (Mum's)
Jewellery - River Island / Topshop / Miss Selfridge / Dorothy Perkins & Accessorize
Sunnies - Storm
I look very awkward in this photo...
I should add that the others I took didn't flatter my shape.
Anyway Happy Tuesday Afternoon!! Not that I know why it's happy it just felt needed.
This was me on Sunday when the family and I went down to Battle to celebrate my Nan.M's birthday, (I won't say which as a lady never reveals her age). It was a BBQ except all the barbequing was done by the time we got there (an hour late and yes it was probably my fault); there was only the usual burgers and sausages so thankfully we took some vegetable kebabs (I should probably point out I don't eat meat I'm a pescatarian). There was plenty of salad and some nice sesame seed rolls (yum) and not forgetting cupcakes!!! I was a little devil and ate 5 of them!! As you can probably guess I'm now on a strict no cupcake diet well that’s until I see doughnuts. I'm a lost hope...
To the outfit...
Again my footwear isn't exactly ideal but as my toe is still the wonderful colours of the rainbow I didn’t want them covered. I did wear my slippers at my Nan.M’s as they have a lovely collie cross Pepper who is very excitable. I was completely on edge as my toe was very much still tender; now not so bad but still on edge. This is my new go to dress. I purchased this dress in the River Island sale for £15 which I thought was really good. It is baggy but with the belt done up its just right. I like the utility feel to this shirt dress and the navy colour as it's a nice alternative to black; plus it'll be perfect in the winter with chunky knits (like I did on Sunday). I haven't exactly put this dress together in a suitable way but my main priority was my toe. I actually haven't worn proper shoes for a few days now but seen as I'm popping out tomorrow I'm gonna have to; I'm slightly worried but if you hear someone screaming as they're walking down the street - that's me!

And The Breeze Bring Tears Of The Rain...

Hat - Forever 21
Jumper - Cheap Monday
Vest Top (underneath) - Primark
Trousers - Warehouse
Shoes - New Look
Jewellery - Topshop / Dorothy Perkins / River Island & Miss Selfridge
Sunnies - River Island
I've hurt my toe!
This was me yesterday and as you can see I'm wearing sandals in this unpredictable weather, well I have an excuse. In the morning I accidentally kicked my toe on the wine rack on the way in to the kitchen, now to begin with I just thought it was a normal throbbing but by the time I got in to the bathroom I was convinced I'd broken it. Thankfully I haven't broken it but it does have a beautiful colourful bruise to decorate my toe. Anyway on to a lighter note this was me yesterday (like I said earlier); Charlie and I popped to my Nan.J's to bake some cupcakes as today we went down to Battle to celebrate my Nan.M's birthday!! We baked about 30 cupcakes (there might have been less) and decorated each one (well I decorated Charlie iced); it was a very long day which ended with a bag of chips and two doughnuts. I'm so healthy!
To the outfit...
I must admit I wasn't exactly dressed for baking but with the state of my toe and the unpredictable weather, I literally had no idea what to wear. I ended up chucking on my usual Warehouse trousers and Forever 21 beanie and I decided to dig out my Cheap Monday jumper. I haven't worn this jumper in a while but I'm surprised I don't wear it everyday, it's nice and baggy with long baggy sleeves and covers all the problem areas (which I love) and it goes with everything. I am wearing some new jewellery, I purchased this necklace in the Topshop sale and I fell in love. It's a pagan cross with an evil eye in the middle I like the length of the chain and of course the versatility of the silver. My ring (which unfortunately you can't see on my right hand); is a silver pagan symbol ring which again I purchased in the Topshop sale. I always enjoy updating my jewellery collection as you can mix and match with various pieces; plus I found out today my cousin Grace has started making jewellery so as you can probably guess I am jumping on that!
I'm stuck watching the Grand Prix and its quite funny as I know who won (I googled it); and my Mum and Charlie don't.
I'll promise not to tell!
Or will I...

Far Beyond Where Memories Lie...

Top - George @ ASDA
Vest Top (underneath) - Primark
Trousers - Warehouse
Cardigan (on bag) - Primark
Shoes - New Look
Bag - Next
Jewellery - River Island / New Look / DIY & Miss Selfridge
I think I need to find somewhere else to shoot my photos.
As much as the hallway is an ideal location the light makes my face look like a ghost.
Just a quick post today!!
Anyway this was me yesterday when I popped out for a bit just to keep me sane (as you do). Can I just say how weird is this weather? It's always muggy at the moment (not that I mind) but there is only so much mugginess a girl can take. It's probably only me but this weather is confusing the bit of my brain where I decide what to wear (yes my brain caters for all); I either find myself dressing too wintery or to summery so I'm left feeling too cold or sweating like P.I.G!! I'm constantly moaning about the weather I do apologise, it's just the weather and I are not simpatico.
To the outfit...
Like I said above I'm constantly confused at the moment when it comes to picking an outfit, so I decided to do my usual Warehouse trousers and New Look shoes with a chunky cardigan. I purchased this top from George @ ASDA ages ago and it's just been hanging up waiting to be worn, I have been meaning to wear it for ages but I always picked something else. It was only on a whim that I picked this up yesterday. The top is made up of two different materials the black sleeves and back (which you can't see) is jersey and the front is a silky imitation material. I love the baroque print and the ornate look it reminds me of Versailles and Marie Antoinette. I think I will be wearing this more in the future.
I've literally spent most of my afternoon on the phone trying to fix my mobile phone!!
Technology and I don't go well together.
I might have to start writing letters.
What can I say I'm an old fashioned gal...

Each Flower Waits For The Sun...

It's Potent! Eye Cream
Triple Performing Facial Emulsion
"That Gal"
Hello Flawless Oxygen Wow - Ivory (Believe in Me)
Erase Paste
Sun Beam
Hoola
Creaseless Cream Eye Shadow/Liner - Tattle Tale
Velvet Eyeshadow - Bikini Line
BADgal Plum Mascara
Magic Ink - Jet-Black Liquid Eye Liner
Brow Zings
Ultra Plush Lip Gloss - Hoola
Look at my golden glow!!
Who needs to go on holiday when you can use bronzer!
So like I said on Friday it was that time of the month (again not that one) yes it was Benefit time again. As usual Mum and I popped in to town to House of Fraser and I was beautified. I'm not going to go on and on about how I love all the products and practically have them all, I'm just going to talk about the products that I've never tried before (yes believe it or not) and even my favourites from this look.
On Friday there was a special reason for my beautifying as Benefit had released the new range - Ultra Plush Lip Gloss Collection; each Lip Gloss corresponds with a particular Box O'Powder. I was particularly intrigued by these lip glosses ever since I heard of the release, I liked the idea of matching with the powders but it would be interesting to see how they were converted. Inge (who as you know does my make up regularly) asked which of the powders is my favourite; this was hard as I have used quite a few of them for example Coralista, Sugarbomb, Dallas (well I have it just haven't used it) and Hoola. I decided to go with Hoola as I've been in love with this product forever but I've always been too scared to attempt it on my own. I ended up purchasing the Ultra Plush Lip Gloss in Hoola as I loved the nude colour and the smooth texture of it; I also purchased the Creaseless Cream Eye Shadow/Liner in Tattle Tale but I'll come to that later. I learnt on Friday different combinations of make up, for example mixing "That Gal" which is a primer with Hello Flawless Oxygen Wow foundation and OMG how did I not know about this! By combining to products that I would never think to match I was left with a pink brightened glow; it's definitely a combination I'll be trying in the future. Another two which both combined Sun Beam with different products, there was Erase Paste and Sun Beam which to me is a very odd combination but actually it's genius and of course Hoola and Sun Beam which is pure heaven. Is there anything Sun Beam can't do? I'm going to be brave and actually use my Sun Beam. As you can see above I added two photos instead of one this is because I wanted to show my eyes. When I look at this make up on me especially with the eyes, I feel a bit like Cleopatra but also it’s a very classic look. As you know last time I did buy two Velvet Eye Shadows (which I have yet to use) and again this time I purchased, (as I said earlier) a Creaseless Cream Eye Shadow/Liner in Tattle Tale. I liked the golden combination of Tattle Tale and the Velvet Eye Shadow Bikini Line (which my mum has); I feel more confident recreating this look as I did on Saturday and I think I did pretty well. I think the golden combination is more versatile then the purple duo (not that I don't love them); I can see myself doing the golden look whether it's for a day look or night.
I love that every time I go to Benefit I learn more and I think that's what you need when it comes to make up; it's very rare you meet people who are perfect at make up but for people like me who are absolutely hopeless, it's good to have someone to help you along. I've already worn the Ultra Plush Lip Gloss in Hoola twice already! I'm addicted and I love it!
B x
*I've not been asked to write about Benefit's products nor am I being paid to do so. I'm simply just a fan of the brand and the products.

Let The Stars Fill Your Soul, When The Moon Cradles All...

Dress - Louche @ Joy
Shoes - New Look
Jewellery - New Look & Miss Selfridge
Happy July!!
Another month has come and gone it's insane how quick this year is going. Next minute it'll be Christmas then another new year!!
Just a quick post today!
Anyway this was me yesterday looking like a Princess just before we headed off to the communion party. It was lovely and warm yesterday which was perfect weather for this dress. I did leave the party early as I wasn't feeling myself and thought I would be better curled up on the sofa watching TV; which actually was the best thing for me but I am still feeling a little out of it still. The party was nice with loud music, (all ones from school discos) and there was a big spread of food (which I didn't eat as my appetite disappeared. Overall I think the family enjoyed it and I enjoyed watching TV at home.
To the outfit...
This is the most beautiful, amazing, princess-esque dress in the universe! I remember going in to Joy a few months ago and jokingly trying on this dress just because I wanted to, as soon as I looked in the mirror with the dress on I knew I had to have it. The way the material flows, the floral patterns, the high neckline with the sneaky slit at the back and the gold belt to finish it off. This dress is the epitome of the perfect summer dress. There was a point where I thought I wouldn't get the dress as it was sold out online so I decided to order it through the store, a week or 2 seemed like forever and I started to think well it's not meant to be but by some miracle the phone rang and the dress was in!! I've been waiting ages to wear it and even though I was only wearing it for a short time it was worth it. Maybe I can now start wearing it everyday even if it is just around the house.
Yeah I doubt that!!
This is the end of a busy week for me and I'm looking forward to a week at home with only a few days out.
Sounds like pure heaven to me.
Well it would wouldn't it...
