Once You've Had A Taste Of Perfection...

 Dolce & Gabbana A/W 2012/2013 Collection.
O M G!!
This collection is without doubt the most perfect collection I have ever seen!
Now as you know I am a huge fan of Dolce & Gabbana, I love all their collections but this season they've out done themselves.
You can see the essence of Italian style in this collection starting with the baroque print. I've lost count of how many days I've sat at home dreaming of a baroque print cape and here it is; from a cape to knee length and longer length these baroque print coats are exactly what anyone needs to survive the unpredictable winters. That hint of luxury on a cold snowy winter’s day.
How amazing are the white and black ensembles?
Whether it's silk, lace or embellished D&G have created the perfect 'first week back to college' outfits (well first week back to college for me). With the added accessories of a belt, knee length stockings and a classic style handbag (not to mention the added bonus of a stunning headband); you will complete any look and completely rock it. The best part is no matter which piece you take from this collection it will simply fit in to your wardrobe as if you've always had it. Simple elegance with real Italian class.
Briefly going to mention that amazing leopard cape and 6 little words - I NEED THAT IN MY LIFE!!!
I don't know why florals are mainly associated with Spring/Summer, there's been many a winters day where I have resisted dusting off my florals and teaming them up with a bit of fur. There are two fitted puff sleeve floral dresses (above) which are perfect for the winter season. Two different colours and whether you prefer horizontal florals or florals that decorate the side, perhaps you'd like added sheer lace at the bottom. These dresses are perfect for any figure and any age especially with the knee length it makes them more wearable. Classic florals to brighten up the winter months.
Michelangelo, Da Vinci and Renaissance these are only but a few words I would use to describe these last 3 looks. When I look at these I simply think of the history, art and romance of Italy from the 16th century courts; to the modern day atmosphere these three looks encapsulate the Italian history. I love the combination of roses and cherubs they remind me of romance and of cupid; I can imagine wearing one of these waiting in the opera house waiting for Puccini's Tosca to start (love the opera). Whether it's a full skirt, longer length, shift style, long sleeved, short puff sleeves or an added pussy bow you'll find exactly what you're looking for in these pieces. A modern day renaissance romance.
As you know when I usually do these posts I like to pick out my favourite and today is no exception; looking at all these amazing looks it's so hard to choose my favourite but there is one that stands out the most. I'm going to draw your attention to the very first look.
This dress to me is everything I and in fact you could possibly want in a dress; whether it's the black velvet material, the cinched in waist with the ornate belt, the embellished neckline, the knee length and the puff sleeve (hiding my problem areas - I don't like the tops of my arms). This dress is classic elegance at its best.
I will now dream about this dress and hope the birthday fairy brings this dress to me for my birthday; (wink wink nudge nudge).
I love every single look in this collection (and this is only half). I'm always surprised when I find an album where I like every single song (Julian Ovenden - If You Stay - love him!!); but it's even more rare to look at a collection and think I want to wear all of that for the rest of my life. To me this is that collection.
B x
