Hey Guys!!
How are we all??
Good??
YAY!!
You have no idea how much I'm enjoying my day at home!!
The long lie in, the sitting in front of the TV, spending time with Lilly...I love it all!!
The problem with being at home after a long time is that I now have too many recordings to watch.
INDECISION!!!
But at least I can watch mindless entertainment all day and all week.
Yes HERMIT TIME!!
I have missed that for the past - however many days it was...
It was fun going away but I'm glad I'm home!!
Plus I'm back to blogging!!
I know you all missed me...maybe??
I know I certainly missed this!!
I promise I'll be better from now on.
Well I can try...
I'm babbling!!
I always babble...
Literally all the time!!
Anyway...
This was me last week when I went away to Leeds for a few days to see my friend Jaime.
I decided I wanted to get away for a few days, so I asked Jaime if I could run away to Leeds. Thankfully she said yes so I booked my ticket and I was set. I didn't pack till literally the night before, as I honestly didn't know what I wanted to take (as usual). But by 2am (I think) I managed to come up with three looks. So I was up early on Thursday morning getting myself ready and yet I was still late. I literally had to run out of my house and straight to the train station; but thankfully I was still on time for my train. Before I knew it I was at London Victoria stocking up on food for the journey (yay doughnuts). I think I was waiting for about 40 minutes for my coach, which is quite good as I had time to relax before my 4 and a half hour journey. Yes. To get from London to Leeds it takes 4 and a half hours!! It's a good job I like National Express otherwise I wouldn't have been happy. I did take my book to read and I had a notebook to doodle in; but I literally spent 4 and half hours staring out the window/falling asleep. I have seen more of the M1 then I ever planned on to (not that I did originally plan on it); but at least it was straight up there via Wakefield. I will say one thing - you can tell when you're up north, because of how industrial everything looks with it's history still alive. I finally made it to Leeds and had to wait about 10 minutes for Jaime (I was early and she was late). I was so scared standing there not knowing anyone, that I was hoping Santa might walk past just to see a familiar face. When Jaime arrived we did the long walk back to her halls, which was almost like a guided tour as we walked straight through town. I love Leeds town hall as it's so pretty and reeks of history, I even took pictures of it on Friday. It was so weird being at Jaime's halls, as I was still in shock that she was at uni. Of course I know she's at university; but to actually see where she lives was a complete shock to me (good shock). Jaime has a nice en-suite room and it's a good size compared to some other halls I've seen. We relaxed for a bit before deciding to head to the Harvester. The walk there was soooooooo cold and I think slightly rainy, plus it didn't help that poor Jaime had a persistent cough and my nose kept running. It was about 20 minutes walk before we got to our destination. The Harvester in Leeds is such an odd set up. You see to me the Harvester is all about farming and the memorabilia on the wall; but in this one it was all modern and open planned and just weird. The food wasn't as good as home but we ate it anyway, plus our drinks were free as the waiter didn't check the bill (yayay). We headed back to Jaime's, (in again the cold and rain) and decided to end the night by watching Legally Blonde. Friday came around and let's just say we weren't in the mood to get up. We eventually got ready and walked in to town through the rain and cold. Leeds city centre is HUGE!! I think there are three shopping centres along with one being built, plus there are countless shops lining the streets. I must admit I didn't see all that Leeds has to offer; but I did pop in to Primark and pick up a cardigan (in Saturday's outfit) and top that says 'FREAK'. We also popped in to Urban Outfitters, as I always make a habit of going in to if there is one. We had lunch in a very modern, high class, expensive restaurant - yep McDonalds!! We were both feeling under the weather with my cold and Jaime's cough, that we decided to grab some snacks and head back to the halls. We spent the rest of the evening watching Lee Evans Roadrunner, Ted and Accepted. There was even a sneaky bowl of late night chips involved. Soon enough Saturday came around and it was time to go home. We headed down to the bus station with a friend of Jaime's and popped in to Greggs. There are literally 9 Greggs in Leeds!! 9!! So I felt I had to go to one before I left, because I felt my time in Leeds wouldn't be complete without it. I was a bit annoyed that they didn't have an apple danish, but I ended up getting quite a nice banana muffin from the Pumpkin Cafe. I said goodbye to Jaime and her friend and waited in the National Express bit for what feels like forever. It didn't help that I couldn't read the screen with all the times on; but thankfully one of the blokes who worked there did an announcement about my coach and I went and asked. Soon enough I was on the coach doing the exact same thing I did going; but the other way all the way to London Victoria. Thankfully my Dad met me and protected me from the loud football crowds. I eventually got home and it was the nicest feeling in the world!! I enjoyed my time away and it was great to see Jaime; but I did miss home and I was glad to be back.
To the outfit...
Now I don't have a picture of Thursday's outfit, because long story short we were both tired and it was dark (not to mention we were full of cold and cough). Just picture an exact replica of Friday's outfit but with a camouflage t-shirt and green lumberjack shirt. I basically planned on wearing the same outfit just with 3 different tops. I had to fit a pillow and a sleeping bag in my suitcase, so there was no room for taking three completely different outfits. In my Friday outfit I'm wearing a new top that I picked up in Primark. With Disneyland Paris happening in October, Charlie and I wanted to start stocking up on Disney clothes now. I saw Mickey Mouse dollar sign tank top a while ago in Primark and knew I had to pick it up. I think it was only £6 and I thought it was a bargain. There are so many ways I can style this piece, in this outfit I chucked a lumberjack shirt over the top (unfortunately you can't see that under my layers). You will definitely be seeing this top again!! I slightly changed my Saturday outfit, as instead of a lumberjack shirt I threw on my new Primark cardigan. I spoke about this cardigan in my last post; but I will just mention again how much I love this cardigan. Literally every outfit that comes to mind involves this cardigan, so I apologise now if you get sick of seeing it - I know I won't!!
Well this is an extremely long post!!
There might be another OOTD tomorrow if not then Thursday; but other then that I think there'll be a few other posts. I'm going to be updating more as I feel I want to keep up appearances.
Well I guess I should finally finish this, as in total it's taken me five hours to do (I took a break and I get distracted).
Can I relax now??
Thank you!!
B x
