Fashion Inspiration - Bloggers/YouTubers!!
Hey everyone!!
Hope you're all well!!
I'm really in to inspiration at the moment.
I think we all need a bit of inspiration in our life, so I thought I would do a new series on what inspires me. Every month I'm going to do a post (maybe a video as well), on what inspires me whether it's fashion, beauty, films, people or life in general.
I hope you guys like this and who knows, maybe we have the same inspirations.
The first set of inspirations I'm going to talk about is fashion!
Fashion is a HUGE part of my life, whether it's blogging or making YouTube videos to my job - for those who don't know I work in my local Debenhams on the Oasis concession. When I'm not at work I'm constantly watching YouTube videos or reading blogs and of course delving in to the latest issue of Vogue, ELLE or Company magazine - obsessed I know!
I mostly get my inspiration from bloggers and YouTubers and I thought it would show you some of the ones who inspire me.
I discovered
Lauren Rose back when I started filming YouTube videos, but as my style was more 'I want to look like everyone else and be normal' I didn't really pay much attention. The other day I was scrolling through the 'What to Watch' playlist on my YouTube and Lauren came up on 'Recommended for You'. I remembered Lauren from back when and decided to check her out again. Oh My Daze I LOVE HER!! From her style to her views on feminism, Lauren is just amazing person. Genuinely nice and really honest - which is one thing I love about the YouTubers I follow. I think it's safe to say Lauren is the thrift queen (well in my eyes) and her vintage 90s or 60s vibed outfits are perfection. I love vintage and thrifting, so I'm really happy that I found someone that I can relate to in that respect. Lauren is a student like me, so there are similarities but overall she is clearly more awesome than I'll ever be. Love Lauren and I love her vintage inspired style, plus it's nice to know I'm not the only person obsessed with Harley Davidson t-shirts.
Lily Melrose is one of the reasons I started blogging. I remember seeing her blog in a magazine (can't remember which one - I think Company) and immediately thought 'hey, why didn't I think of doing that'. I had no idea that you could share your style and views to a vast audience. I started reading Lily's blog religiously and one day I started my own. I love Lily's style because she is the high street queen. Whenever I see her wearing something that makes me squeal (in a good way), I immediately track it down and add it to my wardrobe. Lily's style is simple but still makes a statement with different colours and prints. Her overall personality (if you watch her YouTube videos) is lovely and Lily is the kind of person you want to grab a coffee with and then go shopping. Lily will always be my fashion inspiration because she inspired me from the very beginning. The only thing now is I'm having major hair envy with Lily's new hairstyle - need to change mine STAT.
If any of you have been reading my blog since last year, you would know that I actually met
Leanne last September. While creating Loud Tate 2013, I had my own fashion workshop and were in need of a blogger to come and style the visitors. When I found out
Leanne was moving to London, I immediately suggested her and thankfully she was interested. When I met Leanne I was such a fan girl; but honestly she is such a nice person and I'm so glad I got to work with her. Flash back to the early days of my YouTube, I was looking for more people to follow and I found Leanne through
Sammi (
Beauty Crush). I started watching her videos and immediately I was hooked. It was good to find someone who's style wasn't as generic as everyone else's and who had almost a quirk about them. I love Leanne's style, she's not afraid to take risks and the main point - she wears what she likes no matter what anyone else thinks. It's nice to find someone who wears black more than I do (and thats saying something). Leanne's overall personality and style is amazing and although she's taking a step back from the world of blogging, she will always be an inspiration in fashion and as a person to me.
Now what can I say about
Jenn - I WANT TO STEAL HER WARDROBE!!
Jenn has an ability to put anything on and look amazing in it. When I watch some of Jenn's hauls and I see a piece that initially I'm not a fan of, as soon as she styles it I need it in my wardrobe. I think I discovered Jenn at the beginning of my YouTube adventure after having a browse. I was taken in by Jenn's natural presence on the camera and her positive attitude. I watch every single video Jenn posts, even those that don't appeal to me I still watch them because I enjoy her videos. Jenn's
lookbooks are my favourite, because damn that girl can style an outfit. Whether it's by season or occasion, I am constantly inspired by the lookbooks and they're my favourite videos of hers. I like the commentary on them, so you can understand why these pieces were styled together. Jenn is one of my favourite YouTuber's to watch and I don't know what I would do without her videos (probably bored). Jennie is another one that I have hair envy with - I need to seriously cut my hair off! If you want to watch someone who is nice, friendly and has a never ending wardrobe, then Jenn's the one for you.
I think
Jess has to be the only blogger/YouTuber that I watch and think - I could rock that! I think I discovered Jess back when I started doing YouTube in 2012. I remember stumbling across her
channel when I was looking for Jeffrey Campbell videos (I was obsessed back then). I watched the
video in total awe of her amazing collection and began to have a hunt around for her other videos. I really liked Jess's style and how it's evolved from when I first starting watching her videos. I love the outfits of the week that she does, as it gives me inspiration for those early college mornings. Whether it's the dip dyed hair, the vamp lips, that amazing neon
Proenza Schouler bag or her amazing ability to wear something and look amazing in it (overload use of amazing but it's true) - Jess is without doubt one of my style inspirations. She's so nice and friendly in her videos and Jess's
vlogmas was the only one I watched religiously from the 1st December. Jess's wardrobes is one of those I would love to raid, as I'm already in love with 99.9% of it - not to mention I love the wardrobe itself! If you're looking for an experimental way of dressing, then Jess is your gal.
I've only just discovered Stephanie's YouTube channel '
SoothingSista' but already I'm hooked. I already knew who Stephanie was through
Jenn's Instagram. I was always curious about who this person was, so one day I decided to have a look at one of her videos and I haven't looked back. Stephanie again is another friendly person who seems down to earth and I really enjoy watching her videos. Her style is AMAZING! I am literally obsessed (in a completely non creepy way). If anyone can rock a pair of Dr Martens - it's Stephanie. Her style is simple with statement pieces and I really like that. The signature red lips always look good on her and I'm jealous of her long hair (why won't mine grow!!). Stephanie is always a joy to watch and our wardrobes consist of pretty much the same things (her's is naturally better though). If you're in need of some inspiration then definitely check out a couple of Stephanie's
lookbooks. I know after watching them, what I'm wearing that week and what I need to invest in. I'm so glad I found Stephanie's channel and I can't wait for any future videos.
These are just a handful of my fashion inspirations!!
I'd love to know who your fashion inspirations are in the comments.
Until next months inspirations…
