I think Friday's should now be known as Girly Friday's!!
I'm literally wearing too much colour at the moment!!
It seems by wearing black to work, I'm now making up for the lack of colour during the week.
I'm now worried...
Ooooo I almost forgot look at my extensions!!
They look a bit dodgy as it was my first time putting them in (I kinda went a bit wrong); but I'm going to try and make them work - plus they cost an arm and leg so I'm making them work!!
Anyway...
This was me yesterday when it was quite a busy day for me.
My day began with a push and a shove (as I'm very reluctant to wake up at the moment); I popped in to town in the morning/afternoon to firstly try on dresses. Now when you work in a shop you're surrounded by pretty sparkly dresses (whether you'd wear them or not); if you're like me then shiny objects distract you and I knew I wanted to try them on. So I popped to see Carolanne who works on Quiz and we picked 9 dresses (as that is the maximum); to try on. It was certainly interesting to see how these dresses (which I wouldn't normally go for), either completely didn't suit me (knew it) or actually looked alright. These dresses are for my birthday in October so I do have a month and a half, but I like to keep my options open as it's good to try things that you wouldn't necessarily go for. My favourite dress that I tried on was actually the dress I fell in love with when I first saw it, the only problem is its nude and I don't think that suits me - but they also do it in navy so we'll see. My next stop was Benefit!! You can't really see my beautiful smoky plum eyes in these photos, but I assure you they look very pretty. Now I won't go in to too much as I'll be doing a make up post soon; but what I will say is I did pick up a couple of things (as you do) and I was very happy with the end result. I was only meant to have an everyday look but because of my family meal last night, I wanted something a little bit more dramatic and something I wouldn't usually do. After Benefit (and via the Disney Store) I headed to Vision Express to get my eyes tested. Yes I have to have glasses!! Well I don't actually have to as I have perfect vision, but because I found it clearer reading with the glasses on the optician thought they might help. I picked up a pair of tortoise-shell Diesel ones (yes my third pair now); I really like them and I do like to have big frames to hide my dark circles!! I did initially want a pair of Alexander McQueen glasses but at £195 I decided not to. My last stop of the day (well afternoon) was the hair/beauty shop to pick up my extensions. I still can't believe I have real extensions (well clip in ones); I've always wanted ones that matched my hair colour but my hair has a habit of being 3 different colours. It was quite odd having long hair and I kept playing with it, I also had to remember that with long hair I can't do certain things. The back of my neck kept getting hot and I nearly (on several occasions); got my hair in my food - I didn't realise how difficult it is having long hair!! Thank god they're only clip ins. My day ended in Oscars my favourite restaurant in the world!! If you've read my blog you probably already know that we go quite often, (in fact I'm hoping to go for my birthday). I just love the buffet spread they put on and because I'm quite fussy when I eat, there isn't always something I can eat but I still manage to eat two starters, two mains and two deserts. Yes you do have to wheel me out!!
To the outfit...
Day - I've had this vintage dress for a few years now (I picked it up in Camden); but I just haven't had the chance to wear it. Because of the sheerness of the dress, I've been trying to find a slip to go underneath and that alone took me a year to find. It does sound dramatic but you'd be surprised how many places actually don't do them. I ended up picking mine up in Marks and Spencer as a pack of two, (I did cut the bows off the front as I didn't like it). You always find it where you least expect it!! I did chuck on my favourite sandals from Next. I've had these for a few years now and I love them! You haven't seen these before as last year I actually lost them in my room (I know too much clothes); but by a sheer flook I stumbled upon them a few months ago and knew they had to be worn with this dress.
Evening - I picked this dress up from Primark two years ago, when they had reduced most of the dresses to a fiver. I did go completely mental and buy about five or six; but I've only worn one of them which is this one I'm wearing here. That event definitely taught me not to buy just because it's the right price, because it might not be the right item for you. I wasn't originally going to wear it last night but for some reason I wanted to dress like a Princess. I decided to put it with a simple cardigan and my little wedges, (I'm wearing no tights as it was boiling yesterday).
This is a very long post!!
I seem to sit down to start writing these not knowing what to say and by the end of it, I've seem to have written an essay!! I surprise myself every time.
I'm currently resting on the sofa as in the middle of the night I've done something to my leg, so now it hurts when I bend it or even attempt to walk. Typical how this happens the day before I have work!!
I seem to use that phrase too much - typical me...
B x
